Position Overview

Quality Process Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician for a rotational position in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment supporting an industrial oil and gas operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, temperature-control, and refrigeration-related equipment problems.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
Repair or replace motors, compressors, thermostats, valves, controls, fans, belts, and other HVAC components.
Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, wiring, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
Perform system startups, testing, and operational checks following maintenance or repairs.
Respond to equipment failures and emergency service requests as needed.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
Document inspections, completed repairs, equipment conditions, and recommended maintenance.
Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, and the provided company vehicle.
Follow all QPS and customer safety policies and procedures.
Work independently while communicating effectively with customer representatives and QPS management.

Qualifications

Several years of hands-on HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
Commercial, industrial, or oilfield HVAC experience is preferred.
Experience with refrigeration systems is strongly preferred.
EPA Section 608 or EPA Universal certification is preferred.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment schematics.
Ability to work independently in a field-service environment.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
Ability to work a 14-day-on/14-day-off rotation in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
